*Repeat this same sequence throughout the whole song
I just want you close
Where you can stay forever
You can be sure
That it will only get better
You and me together
Through the days and nights
I don’t worry ’cause
Everything’s gonna be alright
People keep talking, they can say what they like
But all I know is everything’s gonna be alright
No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I’m feeling
No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I feel for you, you, you
Can get in the way of what I feel for you
When the rain is pouring down
And my heart is hurting
You will always be around
This I know for certain
You and me together
Through the days and nights
I don’t worry ’cause
Everything’s gonna be alright
People keep talking, they can say what they like
But all I know is everything’s gonna be alright
No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I’m feeling
No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I feel for you, you, you
Can get in the way of what I feel
I know some people search the world
To find something like what we have
I know people will try, try to divide something so real
So ’til the end of time, I’m telling you there ain’t no one
No one, no one
Can get in the way of what I’m feeling
No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I feel for you
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh (no one, can get in the way, not for a minute, baby, of what I feel for you)

I recently received this comment from my last video:

Thank you! Also thanks for playing a good sound ukelele and not one of those depressed girl ukeleles 😂
—
And I get it…
There are a ton of these “depressed girl ukulele players” on yootoobs.
I can’t say it bothers me that much because I don’t actually watch ukulele videos or really any covers (surprisingly)
But I do have this pet peeve…
I might have a hard time explaining it…
There is this distinct “indie girl voice” that I’ve heard both in videos and at open mics.
It bugs me, personally, because it’s not really their voice…
By which I mean, it’s not anywhere close to their speaking voice.
It’s this “voice” that nearly every indie singer girl has and now all these girls try to sing this way.
The best example of this voice I can think of is from the song “Little Talks” by Of Monsters and Men, the song that goes:
Don’t listen to a word I say
(Hey)
The screams all sound the same
(Hey)
And though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore
Anyway, the point I’m trying to make is…
You have a unique, distinct voice. Don’t hide it by trying to sound like someone else — you’ll just sound like a cheap imitation.
But speaking of cheap imitations…
I’ve actually got a cover of a cover.
I covered Rex Orange County’s Version of “No One” by Alicia Keys.
Which, funnily enough, is somewhat of a depressed girl song.

Let me know how cheap it is in the comments.
Cheers,
