About a lucky man who made the grade

And though the news was rather sad
C F Em Em7
Well, I just had to laugh

 I saw the photograph

He didn't notice that the lights had changed
G Bm Em Em7
A crowd of people stood and stared
C F
 They'd seen his face before

Nobody was really sure
   Em7 C
If he was from the House of Lords

[Verse 3]

The English Army had just won the war
G Bm Em Em7
A crowd of people turned away
C F
But I just had to look

 Having read the book

I'd love to turn you on (orchestral glissando)

[Middle 8]
     E
Woke up, fell out of bed
                         Dsus2
Dragged a comb across my head
         E B7sus4
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
    E B7sus4
And looking up I noticed I was late
         E
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
                        Dsus2
Made the bus in seconds flat
         E B7sus4
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
E B7sus4
Somebody spoke and I went into a dream.

[Interlude]

(Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)

[Verse 4]
G Bm Em Em7
I read the news today oh boy
C C/B Asus2
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
G Bm Em Em7
And though the holes were rather small
C F
They had to count them all
Em Em7 C
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall
            | Em/F# Em/G | Em/A Em/B | Em/C Em/D | Em | ...
I'd love to turn you on (orchestral glissando)

SL: Perhaps one of the greatest songs

I don’t know about you, but the first time I heard this song was on a
youtube video with pictures and clips of funny dogs.

I must’ve been middle school-aged…

Wandering the interwebs with innocence and wonder…

Unaware of the wild journey my ears were about to embark.

And I believe it was precisely the nature of the video that made this
song so memorable to pre-pubescent me.

I was completely blown away…

Side note — I believe, through the newly-formed hormonal synapses,
there are a few songs that virtually every 12 to 14-year-old listens to
for the first time and becomes completely enamored with:

– Bohemian Rhapsody
– Mr. Blue Sky
– The entirety of Dark Side of the Moon

Anyway, add this song to the list…

See, I was a fan of The Beatles at this point of my life and had
listened to their greatest hits album many, many times — but this song
didn’t make the cut.

At the time, I didn’t know what this song was, and the only way I could
listen to it was by watching this stupid dog video.

Obviously, this was a time before Shazaam, Siri, Alexa, etc…

And to my surprise, after listening to the entirety of Sgt. Pepper’s
Lonely Hearts Club Band,

I had finally discovered the title to this mysterious track.

And now, here is your priority-access first look, before anyone else, at
my new cover of “A Day In The Life”:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruy8wWAI_rM

Enjoy,

Sgt. Dylan

Baritone ukulele cover of Smoke Break by Chance The Rapper from the album, Coloring Book

Chords:

|| a | G | C | G :||

Lyrics:

We just been smoking a bowl
We just been smoking
We just been smoking a bowl
We just been smoking a bowl
We just been
We just been smoking a bowl
We just been smoking a bowl
We just been smoking a, we just
What the fuck is going on?
When did we buy a bowl?

We just been smoking a bowl
We don’t got no time to roll
I’m always out on the road
She don’t got time for a whole
Little bit of time that we have
We used to purchase a half
There’s gon’ be no time to smoke
I’m always throwing on clothes
She always throwing a fit
We don’t got no time for no sex
I just put milk in the bowl
She don’t be cooking at all
She just put weed in the bowl
She don’t have time for herself
She putting points on the board, yes
You know she carry her own
You know she carry a child
She wake up at crack of dawn
She don’t be cracking a smile
So when she packing the bowl
I grab her, I tell her

Let me crack this blunt
Slow it down for a second
Break it down ooh
She said, “Let me lick this blunt”
Slow it down for a second
Break it down, ooh

We deserve, we deserve
We deserve, a smoke break
We deserve, we deserve
We deserve, a smoke break

Truth being told, we used to movies and bowl
We used to Netflix and roll
I used to pass her the smoke
She used to laugh at my jokes
You pat my back when I choke
Wish we were stuck in our ways
We way too young to get old
We stuck together like oowops
We smoke to Fetty, sing ZooWap
Traphouse 3, Guwop
I shoulda knew when I grew up
It would be no time at all
We went from White Owls to Raws
We went from joints to a bowl
She need a second to breathe
We need an actual smoke sesh

Let me crack your back
Slow it down for a second
Take it down oh
Let me run this back
Slow it down for a minute
You deserve, you deserve
We deserve, we deserve
We deserve, a smoke break
We deserve, we deserve
We deserve, a smoke break

I don’t have time to finesse
I put some ice on your neck
But I ain’t holding you back
I spend my time on the road
Super ain’t saving no hoes
I don’t have time to patrol
Let me break these bales right down for a second
When it touch down oh
I got to lay back the roof
I got to break the new rules
She can’t be taking no cost
When she involved with a boss
Please don’t get lost in the sauce
Please don’t get lost in the sauce
She been like this from the door
Told me my mom was a whore
I gave her percs for myself
I give her a perc for esteem
I’m tryna crown me a queen
You hear the chains when they cling
I’ll take the molly it’s clean
I push the whip with the wings
I gotta be overseas
I gotta be on the pedal
I push it down to the floor
I got designer galore
I keep some Goyard and gars
I smoke out all of my cars
You smell the weed in the air
You smell the smoke in the seats
You went and had our child
You didn’t abandon the D
You got me twisted at least
You can

Let me crack your back
Let me rub you all over
Take it down ooh
Let me make this blunt
Make you dinner or somethin’
You deserve, you deserve

We deserve, we deserve
We deserve, a smoke break
We deserve, we deserve
We deserve, a smoke break

SL: Take a Chance

Anyone here ever been to Chicago?

It seems to be a pretty neat place from what I hear…

They’ve got food, culture, history, sports… and crime.

Basically everything you need to keep things interesting!

Plus, some of the coolest people ever are from the windy city:

The talented Kanye West.

The powerful Barack Obama.

And my favorite, Chance The Rapper!

I’ve covered a few of his songs before, and I plan to cover more over
time.

Pro-tip: When you travel to a new country, you should try listening to a
good album/playlist during the trip. That way, whenever you hear a song
from the album, it’ll bring back good memories.

I thought this was stupid the first time I heard it…

But now, whenever I listen to the Chance’s album, “Coloring Book”, I get
a rush of sensations from when I was exploring the streets of downtown
Taipei. Good times.

Here’s your priority-access, first-look, before anyone else, at my new
cover, “Smoke Break”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95xETOCt6uM

Enjoy,

Dylan the Crapper

P.S. I flubbed up the lyrics a bit at the end of the song so feel free
to make fun of me in the comments

Baritone ukulele cover of Same in the End by Sublime from the album, Sublime

Chords and Lyrics:

[Verse]
Dm
Down in Mississippi where the sun beats down from the sky
They give it up, and they give it up, and they give it up
But they never ask why
Daddy was a rollin', rollin' stone
He rolled away one day and he never came home

[Chorus]
F C A
  It ain't hard to understand
           Dm C Bb
This ain't Hitler's master plan
        F A
What it takes to be a man
F C A
In my mind, in my brain
          Dm C Bb
I roll it over like a steamin' freight train
         F A
It ain't hard to ascertain

[Verse]
   Dm
You only see what you want to believe
When you light up in the back with those tricks up your sleeve
That don't mean I can't hang
But the day that I die will be the day that I
Shut my mouth and put down my guitar
Sunday morning hold church down at the bar
Get down on your knees and start to pray
Pray my itchy rash will go away

[Chorus]
F C A
Back up y'all it ain't me
               Dm C Bb
Kentucky Fried Chicken is all I see
                 F A
It's a hellafied way to start your day
F C A
If I make you cry all night
       Dm C Bb
Me and daddy gonna have a fist fight
         F A
It ain't personal, it ain't me

[Verse]
Dm
I only hear what you told me to be
I'm a backward-ass hillbilly, I'm Dick Buttkiss
You know I lie, I get mean
I'm a thief in the dark, I'm a ragin' machine
I'm a triple rectified-ass son-of-a-bitch
Rec-tite on my ass and it makes me itch
I can see for miles and miles and miles
My broken heart makes me smile

[Chorus]
F C A
In my mind, in my brain
     Dm C Bb
I go back and go completely insane
         F A
It ain't personal, it ain't me
F C A
If I make you cry I might
        Dm C Bb
Be your daddy at the end of the night
       F A
Take a load from my big gun

[Verse]
   Dm
You only see what you want to believe
When you creep from the back I got tricks up my sleeve
Twenty-four seven the devil's best friend
Makes no difference it's all the same in the end

SL: Oh Great, Another Sublime Song

That’s right,

I’m still (slowly) building up my repertoire of Sublime songs.

Why?

Cause I stan them hard bro,

I’ve listened to all their songs…

I’ve watched countless hours of their live recordings… Most of them
filmed from the back of some shitty bar with an old-school
video-cassette camera so the quality is awful — but I still can’t get
enough of them.

I lost sleep reading an entire book about them titled, “Crazy Fool” in a
single night cause I couldn’t put it down.

I even have my own yootoob playlist dedicated to Sublime covers…

All this for a group of dudes who made up some songs in the 90’s.

Easily in my top 3 of all-time favorite bands.

So here’s your priority-access, first-look at my cover of “Same in the
End”, before the rest of the internet:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2o3rP0bX4xk

Let me know how terrible it is with a dislike or hurtful comment.

Peace,

Dylbee

 Em7
Because I try to minus the problems that I attract
 F#m7 G
And half the time the wheels that's in the back of my mind
             A
Just keep on turning 'til the tires flat and burn until the fire crack
D
I do not lie though, facts may seem a little farfetched
Em7
That's only 'cause I may be make believe and full of darkness
       F#m7 G
When I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place
                 A
Walk and drop in change inside your empty guitar case
                 D
That's charity um, I move carelessly that's why I'm always tripping
Em7
I guess that's like electrolytes you help me go the distance
 F#m7 G
Not too efficient but the way it's always been
 A
Until the day we have to meet again

[Pre-Chorus]

SL: How an artist came back from the dead

Recently, a young hip-hop artist from Pittsburgh came back from the
dead.

He passed away on September 7th, 2018 at the ripe-young age of 26, due
to a drug overdose.

Last year, he hauntingly released an album posthumously…

And it is…

Pretty damn great.

I’m sure some of you know about Mac Miller…

(Or maybe you know him as the guy who dated Ariana Grande, *sigh*)

For real though, he was a super talented dude and a completely unique
individual.

But the first time I heard of him, I wasn’t interested…

A friend of mine showed me the video to Mac Miller’s “Nikes On My Feet”

And I was like, “eff that, who’s this tatted-up white kid trying to be
all gangster?”

Fast forward to some years later where I listened to his album, “The
Devine Feminine” — and I was hooked.

Especially his song, “Stay”.

I even went back to “Nikes On My Feet” and thought, “Damn, he was good
then. Eff me for not being able to get passed the way he looked”

I guess I’m just dumb.

Well, in honor of the late Mac Miller, here is your priority-access,
first-look at the new cover of “Hand Me Downs”:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_C-AMun4G5g

Let me know what you think, or what you don’t think.

Enjoy,

Dac Diller

P.S. I feel as though I need to promote the songs I cover, because
honestly, they’re funking good and you should at least give it a listen.
I mean, you don’t have to. But you’d be a lot cooler if you did
(alright, alright, alright): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYEXdCCpfVQ

Tyler, The Creator – Boredom Cover, Chords, and Lyrics

Baritone ukulele cover of Boredom by Tyler, The Creator from the album, Flower Boy

Chords:

|| FM7 – G – C – emin :||

Lyrics:

When you’re having fun (fun)
When you’re having fun
Fly out the window (go, go, go)
Boredom got a new best friend
(Boredom, boredom, best friend)
Cause boredom got a new best friend (oh, oh, oh)
Boredom got a new best friend
Find some time
Find some time to do something
Find some time
(Find some time, oh)
Boredom, boredom, boredom, boredom
Boredom, boredom, boredom, boredom
Boy, my bedroom floor is a cereal burial, I’m serious
I ate ’em all, dry boxes, bodies, yeah I count ’em
If we’re talking about real meals
Ask my stomach, he ain’t saw ’em
I’ve been in this fuckin’ room so long
My eyeballs are turning to dry wall
My friends suck, fuck ’em, I’m over ’em
“Hi y’all, y’all ain’t hit me all day
What the fuck is the problem? Is it me?
Cause I’m not solved, I’m, bored.”
Find some time
Find some time to do something
Find some time
Find some time to do something
Find some time
Find some time to do something
(Oh)
Boy’s getting’ desperate as hell
Cellular not amusing and I hope someone will
Message me with some plans that are amusing as well
Cause I haven’t seen the exit of these walls, but fall this morning
(Morning, morning, morning, morning)
Got some calls I can handle
But nowhere for performance
My stomach angry and yelling’
I need some food, I go order
But I hate eating solo
Need someone we can loiter in parking lots
And sunsets at the border, yeah
Ringy dingy dong, I can’t be alone
I been starting to feel like
I don’t know anyone
So now I’m staring at my ceiling fuckin’ going
Like I don’t know where I’m going
No idea where I’m going
Tick tock
(Damn, gotta get outta here)
Find some time
Find some time to do something
(Hey, can y’all help me right quick?)
Find some time
Find some time to do something
Find some time
Find some time to do something
(Oh)
Cause boredom got a new best friend
Boredom got a new best friend
Cause boredom got a new best friend

SL: Hoosker doos, Hoosker don’ts

Anyone here ever seen the movie “Joe Dirt”?

There’s this scene where the main character, Joe Dirt, wants to buy some awesome fireworks but becomes immediately let down by the poor selection. Kicking Wing is the man who owns the firework stand, and he only sells the two fireworks he likes: snakes and sparklers. Here’s a part of their interaction:

Joe Dirt : You’re gonna stand there, ownin’ a fireworks stand, and tell me you don’t have no whistlin’ bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don’ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistlin’ kitty chaser?

Kicking Wing : No… because snakes and sparklers are the only ones I like.

Joe Dirt : Well that might be your problem, it’s not what you like, it’s the consumer.

Putting out these songs and covers, I sometimes feel like Kicking Wing…

Cause the songs I love playing are often lesser-known, different, or just unconventional.

However, I also secretly hope that it will open you guys up to new music as well…

Especially to those of you who aren’t a big fan of hiphop…

Cause this next song is one of my favorites by the rapper: Tyler, The Creator.

It’s called, “Boredom”. And it’s basically the unofficial anthem of quarantining.

Here’s your priority-access, first-look, before anyone else in this galaxy here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F86-XhlXNN0

Enjoy,

Dylan, The Creator

P.S. Let me know what you think, or don’t. That’s okay too.

| C | G |

| D – F | x2

[Chorus]

| C | Bb | C | Bb – C7aug5 |

Lyrics:

I’m hearing voices, animal noises

The crème de la crème, the feminine abyss

And I’m reaching my threshold

Staring at the truth till I’m blind

My body’s stupid, stereo putrid

Spilling out music into raw sewage

I’m reaching my threshold

Staring at the truth till I’m blind

My threshold

My threshold

Reaching my threshold

I’m hearing voices, animal noises

The crème de la crème, the feminine abyss

And I’m reaching my threshold

Staring at the truth till I’m blind

My body’s stupid, stereo putrid

Spilling out music into raw sewage

I’m reaching my threshold

Staring at the truth till I’m blind

My threshold

My threshold

Reaching my threshold

I’m hearing voices, animal noises

The crème de la crème, the feminine abyss

And I’m reaching my threshold

Staring at the truth till I’m blind

My threshold

I’ll explode

And I’m reaching my threshold

My threshold

My threshold

My threshold

SL: Finally… GOSH!

I’m sure none of you have noticed…

But you haven’t received an email or seen any new content from me in
almost a month.

How did this happen?

Well, you see…

Basically all my recordings lately have been shitty.

I’ve more or less been practicing the same batch of songs in hopes of
getting them “performance ready”

You’ll also see that I’ve changed my setup a bit.

Instead of recording on an off-screen mic, I’ve plugged in my uke and
started singing directly into the mic for a more professional-ish sound.

You’ll also notice a different picture — that’s cause I’m recording
with the front-facing camera on my phone (which makes video recording
easier)

I’ve also been practicing a whole slew of original songs in hopes of
releasing acoustic and fully-produced versions.

Now, for the main event…

If you’re familiar with the movie, “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” (and
you should be cause it’s a great movie)…

Then you probably heard this song by Sex Bob-Omb in the part where they
battle the Katayanagi Twins.

Here is your priority-access, first look, before anyone else in the
world, no outsiders allowed, sneak peek of “Threshold”:

Enjoy,

Dyl-Omb

P.S. Feel free to leave a message in the video telling me how much you
enjoyed not receiving these messages
