SL: Perhaps one of the greatest songs
I don’t know about you, but the first time I heard this song was on a
youtube video with pictures and clips of funny dogs.
I must’ve been middle school-aged…
Wandering the interwebs with innocence and wonder…
Unaware of the wild journey my ears were about to embark.
And I believe it was precisely the nature of the video that made this
song so memorable to pre-pubescent me.
I was completely blown away…
Side note — I believe, through the newly-formed hormonal synapses,
there are a few songs that virtually every 12 to 14-year-old listens to
for the first time and becomes completely enamored with:
– Bohemian Rhapsody
– Mr. Blue Sky
– The entirety of Dark Side of the Moon
Anyway, add this song to the list…
See, I was a fan of The Beatles at this point of my life and had
listened to their greatest hits album many, many times — but this song
didn’t make the cut.
At the time, I didn’t know what this song was, and the only way I could
listen to it was by watching this stupid dog video.
Obviously, this was a time before Shazaam, Siri, Alexa, etc…
And to my surprise, after listening to the entirety of Sgt. Pepper’s
Lonely Hearts Club Band,
I had finally discovered the title to this mysterious track.
And now, here is your priority-access first look, before anyone else, at
my new cover of “A Day In The Life”:

Enjoy,
Sgt. Dylan
