Phum Viphurit – Lover Boy Cover, Chords, and Lyrics

Baritone ukulele cover of Lover Boy by Phum Viphurit from the album, Bangkok Balter Club

Chords and Lyrics:

I used these chords as a guideline, but I may have changed a few chords here and there. Just use your ears and play what sounds good to you :)

[Verse]
(For the G#m7 and G#m9 chords I usually just play three downstrums for each)
C#m7 F#7 Bmaj7 G#m7 G#m9
Wandering the streets all through the night
C#m7 F#7 Bmaj7 G#m7 G#m9
Searching for the one to make me right
C#m7 F#7 Bmaj7 G#m7 G#m9
Wondering if she's the shade of you
C#m7 F#7 Bmaj7 G#m7 G#m9
And if so, should I try to see it through

[Chorus]

Emaj7 C#m7
Darling, I got my trust issues
Bmaj7 G#m7 G#m9
Warning, you stay away
Emaj7 C#m7
If we meet at the rendezvous
Bmaj7 G#m7 G#m9
Take me away, sunray

Emaj7 C#m7
Darling, I got my trust issues
Bmaj7 G#m7 G#m9
Warning, you stay away
Emaj7 C#m7
If we meet at the rendezvous
Bmaj7 G#m7 G#m9
Take me away, sunray

[Verse]
C#m7
Time and toys
    F#7 Bmaj7 G#m7 G#m9
May fill my heart with joy
C#m7 F#7 Bmaj7 G#m7 G#m9
I'll know peace when I'm your lover boy

Email Sent on March 7th, 2021:

Just thought I’d ask…

I write about myself too much on these emails.

Though I will tell you about something amusing I found as an ESL teacher:

If you ask any little kid (at least in Asia), “How are you?”

Due to rote memorization from school, no matter how good or bad their English is, they will always answer, “I’m fine thank you. And you?”

Not, “Good, you?” or “Doing well, thanks.” or any other typical answer.

Every time it’s “I’m fine, thank you. And you?”

And it’s sort of a little joke between ESL teachers and learners.

Anyway,

Speaking of jokes…

Here’s my new cover of “Lover Boy” by Phum Viphurit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykeT85C1_c8

Of course, you’re the first to see it!

Phum is a Thai guy who grew up in New Zealand, and he writes some pretty good songs.

By the way, please feel free to answer how you’re doing!

I’m interested in seeing what kind of responses I get 🙂

Whether I just talked to you, haven’t talked in a while, even if we never met — doesn’t matter.

Tell me how you’re doing!

Peace,

Dylandia

P.S. Seriously, write back! Even a sentence will do!
